Shipping to Malasia & Singapore

G`day all, I am after a bit of info for out Land Rover, we are probobly going to be working in Singapore for a year or so, and wanted to ship our 110 over to either Singapore or Malaysia, I realise we are going to need a carnet, but what I am wondering about is how long you can keep the vehcile over there under a carnet, I have a feeling it is only 3 mnths but could you keep moving it from Singapore to Malaysia every 3 mnths. It is also a LHD so there is next to no chance of getting it regestered in Malaysia and it is over 3yrs old so regestering in Singapore wont be an option.
Any info would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

The carnet itself is normally good for 1 year, and is renewable after a year. The complication is that you are going to be working in Singapore, so I suggest you have a friend write to the Singapore Embassy and ask them. The reason I say 'have a friend write' is in case you don't like the answer, and prefer not to have it on file that you asked the question!

Good luck!

Susan thanks for the advice, I will drop them a line using our imaginary friends, as you say we might get an answer we dont like and may be able to try a different route.

Thanks again
