Russian visa in Stockholm

Hi, this is my first post here!!

In July this year I’m planning a trip on my bike starting out with two of my friends in Stockholm going straight to the ferry heading to Gdansk. From Gdansk where heading through Poland (of course) Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia. From Croatia I will head alone for Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Abkhazia and in to Russia then back to Stockholm probably through Finland.
The only countries that I’m planning going through that needs a visa/clearance is Russia and Abkhazia, I got my clearance for Abkhazia and now Im trying to figure out how to get my Russian Visa witch I thought would be an easy one.
When I ordered my invitation (did it from waytorussia.com) they replayed that it’s almost impossible to get a Visa in Stockholm without booking my trip through an agent and that I would need proof on that my hotel/ tour is paid in advance.
I contacted an agent hear in Stockholm and got the same answer.
Please help me with tips and ideas how to solve my problem, perhaps an European visa support agent that I can send my passport to and get a visa in another country .
All replays are welcome!!

Russian Visa in Stockholm

This doesn’t look good no reply in 4days!

I’ve also been in contact with an UK Visa agent but they couldn’t help because according to them the Russian Consulates worldwide have strict rules about people applying in the country where they’re a national or can prove that they have been a resident in the country for the last 90days.

Looks like I will need to rethink my plans and exclude Russia from my trip .

You should be looking for a Business Visa.

This normally should be applied for in a Country where you have some Residency Rights (ie. not a tourist passing through).
An EU passport automatically gives rights of residency in other EU countries - but not all Russian Embassys want to accept the EU Law on this. Some do though.

Applications for Business Visas do not require proof of hotels bookings.

But you need an Invitation that a RUS Company submits to the Ministry. The Ministry approves it and issues a Certificate of Invitation (either in paper or a Telex Reference number) to the inviting Company who send it on to you.

Look around for Visa Handling Agencies who will obtain the Invitation for you and, if you wish, submit the Visa Application.

I believe the 'going rate' for an Invitation is around 50-60 Euros. Could be more. Plus the Agency charges and Visa Fees.

Once you have your Visa there are no questions about business.

visa info

Hi Per

I used Way to Russia Guide | waytorussia.net to get my business invitation 3 months double entry - they have a lot of info about the types you may need and we're exceptionally helpful. Contact Alla Stepanova

I obtained the actual visa in Thessaloniki Greece Генеральное консульство России в Салониках / Γενικό Προξενείο της Ρωσίας στη Θεσσαλονίκη
- Bulgaria isn't that far. You must have the original inviation, a photo, a medical instance card or proof and a form filled in, if you're a UK national you must get the form from the UK russian emabssy site: more detailed.

You will then need to arrive at 11am with the documents, you'll be asked to prove you live in greece - blah blah be persitant they can and will do it. They want to see you really want the visa. They can do the visa there an then processing for 148Euro.
Hope this helps -Jen
