recommended motorcycle insurers?
 

Hi,

in the coming year i've got my first two foreign trips coming up; Tuscany this summer and Morocco next easter. Can anyone recommend a good UK motorcycle insurer that doesn't make a lot of fuss or charge a fortune for european cover. Also, is it worth getting insurance for Morocco from home or just buying a few weeks worth at the border?

I use AXA here in Saudi but it does not cover me if I go to Bahrain, I have to buy the local insurance for a short stay, could be the same for Morocco.
Axa should cover you for the UK and europe.

Hey,

I always insure my bikes through Carole Nash. They are a broker rather than an insurance company themselves, obviously, but I find they always get me a pretty good deal. I am pretty sure all UK bike insurance MUST cover you at least third party in the EU and a lot of companies will cover you fully comp for no extra charge. They've also sorted me out with insurance cover that included Morocco for a small extra premium. You can buy cover at the border when entering Morocco but I've always felt more comfortable with UK based insurance.
I've had to call on my insurance no less than three times (!) when abroad. Twice was just for the standard european breakdown cover for someone to come and pick me up when my tyres disintigrated. The other time was when I piled my bike into a ditch in Norway. The bike had to be picked up and transported home to be fixed. I was also supplied with a hire car to get me to Oslo to fly home. Carole Nash sorted the whole thing for me and were extremely helpful.
