Purchase Bike in England

My plan is to purchase a used BMW in Great Britain to be used for my holidays riding. Then ship it back to Canada. Is it best for registration and insurance to leave it registered in Great Britain. I think I can use a friends address in Scotland. Or some how registered the bike in Canada, take correct paper work over there to ride it.

I'd strongly recommend buying AND selling it in UK and then buying one back here when you get home. Registering a foreign bike in Canada is a huge hassle and only worth it for exotica.

Or leave it there and ride it every summer. Lots of people have bikes in several different places and return regularly to ride it.

Talked to Transport Canada/Customs and they said any bike over 15 years old is just a walk in. No troubles.
