obtaining green card for travel through Marroco and then travelling in West Africa
 

Help!! I am insured with Carol Nash. I am going to ride through Spain + Portugal from Jan 4th 2013-15th approx, then cross into Marocco,spending approx 10 days down to Mauritanis. then i will spend 4 months in West africa and then return through Marocco.

The PROBLEM is that after initially saying yes, no problem, Carol Nash will not issue me with the GREEN card and will not allow me to run their insurance on my bike as well as the insurances i will have to take out at each border for each new country!!

So...what does everyone else do to overcome this MASSIVE problem?
They suggested i contact a 'specialty' insurance company to cover in Marocco and provide the green card.

Or, is it ok to purchase insurance at the Marrocan border without a 'green card' document?

If your insurer won't provide you with a green card then you can easily buy third party insurance at the Moroccan border. You will need the registration document and your temporary import permit to buy insurance.

The cost will depend on the number of days required in Morocco. I was last there in Oct and the rate for a motorcycle between 10 days and a month was about 90 euro.
