Question HELP PLEASE: New Zealand arriving from Europe with Carnet, WHAT TO DO?

Hello,

my bike is just on the way from Germany to Auckland, I have the carnet and the Bill of Lading. I have booked and payed everything till Auckland (FOB Hamburg).

My Agent here in Germany gave me an agent in Auckland who will do the unloading (Mondial). I asked them so send me an offer for the handling, incl unloading, storage of the crate and tax declaration. Nothig received so far from them. They just told me to send the original Carnet and BoL to them via a currier service, which of cause I will not do. I send them a scan and told them that I can pass by when I am in Auckland to show them the originals.

What to do first when arriving in Auckland? (except )

I have to do the import, Carnet (quarantine thing maybe...).
Technical inspection (WoF)
Insurance

anything else? Any Addresses anybody? Any advice? Any better agency? Do I have to take Mondial? Are they any good? Any better around?

Thx anyone who can help me to get off this confusion.

I found only this here:

"New Zealand Temporary Import

Details on importing your bike temporarily into New Zealand are available from the NZ Automobile Assoc, International Motoring Services, 419 Great South Rd, Auckland NZ, +64/9 579 6886, fax +64/9 579 7473, nzaa.akl@xtra.co.nz; from the NZ Customs Service, feed...@customs.govt.nz, Website. You will be required to register the bike in NZ and, while not required to obtain insurance, it's VERY recommended, and a safety inspection will be required.

Nigel Marx, NZ Community, says: "Many travelers have not even been required to register, some have to buy a partial registration with Accident Compensation Corporation levy (saving NZ$160) and some full registration, but that seems to vary with the person you are dealing with. Also sometimes a WOF (Warrant Of Fitness safety inspection) is required, and sometimes not."

Further details on temporary registration can be obtained from the NZ Land Transport Safety Authority, i...@ltsa.govt.nz, or on the Website."

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
