Mongolian Visa in Ulan Ude

Hi Guys

I have just obtained my Visa for Mongolia in Ulan Ude and thought I'd share my experience!

Background - Doing a RTW solo on my Triumph Scrambler, the only Visa I had in place was my American and Russian and just had to trust that I could get the rest enroute

Short Answer - I got my 30 day tourist visa at the Mongolian Embassy in Ulan Ude in 1 Day for $95.

Where - Some of the address' state Hotel Baikal but this is not correct the address is Ulan-Ude, Ul. Provsoyuznaya-6, put that into Google Maps and it will find it! It's near the Opera House in the Main square. There are two time slots 10-12:30 and 5-6pm.

I arrived at 9 and was told to come back at 10 which I did to no queue and was shown the way to the first room where you complete a one page application and attach a passport photo, they provide the glue!

You go and pay and then are asked to return at 5pm where it took me all of 30 seconds to be handed my passport back with my visa in it!

Next Stop MONGOLIA

BOOM

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
