hi there,

I guess things have changed since I travelled in summer 2000 in mongolia, but I am sure at the mongolian embassy in china they wont have a clue.

as I remember from 2000, there was no timelimit for having my bike in mongolia.

be carefull, the stupid mongolian custom officer stamped my registration document, and I got very angry ...

good luck

Bike inot Mongolia

Hi Malcolm,

We came over yesterday from Russia and there was no time specification on any paperwork for the bike. In fact, the whole crossing was a little chaotic and as long as we had enough stamps on every paper we were fine. From what I could figure, the bike could come in for as long as you can on your visa. There are also some posts elsewhere from folks who have left bikes in Mongolia and been allowed to leave without penalty.
