Iranian Visa Warning

Hi everyone,

I just thought i'd share my experience with you all to help prevent you guys making the same mistake i did.

I applied for my Iranian LOI via Stan Tours just before Iran went on public holiday and it was rejected with no explination given.:confused1: My friends applied the week before via the same route and had no problems.

I would suggest that anyone applying should check out when the Iranian holidays are and avoid submitting an application just before they go on holiday.

I'm hoping this doesn't effect my ability to get into Iran in the future as all records have now being computerised and kept in Tehran.

I'm now planning my route via Azerbaijan.

Every overlander's nightmare!

But what does David of Stan Tours think of this? I have never actually met him or done any business with him, but I found him extremely helpful when talking to him. Perhaps David can advise you on why the Iran visa might have been refused and, on whether it's worth reapplying.

David's been really good and this rejection is no reflection on the service he provides.
I have spoken to David and they simple did not give a reason at the Iranian embassy in Tehran suggesting that it's just one of those things.
It would be really annoying if it stopped me visiting in the furture though.

as far as reapplying goes...... i've been told that it's best to leave it for a couple of months. This is too late for me as i leaving at the end of April and i have to get a Turkmen transit visa which relies on you obtaining entry and exit visas for the countries you are coming from and going to beforehand.

Not good news.
My wife and I are currently in Istanbul waiting for a response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We applied for our visas via an agency based in Iran and they submitted the application just days before the Iranian holiday (probably about the same time as you). But contrary to your experience we have not yet received any word on whether or not we will get it. Now you have me worried!

Iran visa

'missed the dealine before the holiday by one day !

As such my application goes in on the 5th April (1st day possible after the holiday). Fingers crossed

Perhaps the first person to get an approval number, post the holiday, could flag it up, so we know when they actually start getting issued ?

Cheers

Pete

Fingers crossed for you all. I hope it all works out.

I guess i'm one of the unlucky few. I spoke to someone at another agency and they said they've had 2 knock backs out of the last 30 applications.

Two of our group have just been rejected for their LOI!

Can anyone offer advice on how soon he can reapply, whether it would help reapplying with a different agency??

3 of us are still waiting for our LOI's so everything could go to ratshit very quickly.

Help!
