$20,000 is GBP 9,890 - so roughly 7% of the cost. Not bad.
Is VAT charged on insurance? What about if you crash it, are held up at gunpoint, hit another vehicle or are struck by a falling tree etc? Cheers, Darrin

Tax is included in the price quoted.
Insurance I got the quote for is just fire and theft, so not including accidental damage caused by crashing etc. If we're held up at gunpoint and they take the truck I would hope that would be covered as theft.

Mike also got back to me with this:
Dear Mr du Plessis, Thank you for your e mail below and for returning the completed quotation form. The 2 quotations are as follows: - Cover Accidental Damage Fire & Theft risks only Geographical area Worldwide (Excluding USA & Canada) Drivers Named aged 25 years or over with 2 years experience Policy excess £250.00 in respect of each and every loss Main exclusions Third Party Liability cover. Vehicle contents Premiums 4 months cover £1047.90. 12 months cover £1814.40. I think it's a bot steep, so I'll try to get local Insurance agencies again. Tough Stuff will do to Kenya and South of Equator for half that with some seriously good benefits.
