Insurance for bikes in transit!

Hi All,

How do you get around the fact that most insurers don't insure your bike while it's on board a ship or plane.

Anyone been able to get temporary insurance for the period of time it take to transport the bike?

Cheers

Boz

Boz,

I have just shipped my bike from Brisbane, Oz to Istanbul. The freight forwarded arranged the insurance for the Tenere for AUD$75 for AUD$6,500 coverage.

The shipping cost from this end cost AUD$331 but I will wait and see what I get hit up for in Istanbul. I will then include the outcome in the shipping info.

On another issue, I arranged my Green Card insurance thru Stefan Knopf and apart from the best price, Stefan was very professional and efficent.
