Insurance; 12 month European cover

Does anyone know of a UK insurer who will offer a bike policy with 12 months continuous cover in Europe?
Carole Nash offer one with Groupama but it is expensive and I will also need a green card for Turkey, Moldova and Ukraine at £30 per month if I go that route.

Ebike do a similiar scheme, i think its £50 12 months for europe, no limit whereas i think carole nash is limit to 30 days.

It's not clear what you want.

Most folks talking about insurance are inside their personal, secure zone of fully comprehensive = "no come back on me, no matter what I do".
If you read into this thread, around post number 140, there are some ideas about what UK insurers are doing & offering:-

This is a sticky thread about insurance for overseas registered bikes, but the issue of UK bikes' insurance comes up there because there is no sticky for it anywhere else.

Hi Dave, it is our intention to travel Europe for the next 12 months without returning to the UK. I have been looking extensivley for a UK insurer who will offer a Europe wide fully comp policy. The main sticking point seems to be that most insurers do not go past the 90 day mark, some only offer 30 days. I have only managed to find one company that will insure for the full 12 months, this being Groupama via Carole Nash, but is very expensive.

Part of our trip is to include Turkey, Moldova and Ukraine. There appears to be two options for this, either pay for a green card from Carole Nash at £30 per 30 days or buy insurance at the border. The problem with the green card is that Carole Nash won't issue it after we leave the UK and won't to date it before we travel, but because we are not firm as to when we will need it we cannot go this route.

We have travelled a lot including north and South America and always the insurance seems to be an issue.

1, do you know of a company that can offer the 12 month insurance for Europe at a reasonable cost with a green card option

and 2, has anyone experience of buying border insurance and if so what is the average cost for 30 days cover for Turkey, Moldova or Ukraine

Fully comp always complicates the situation it seems to me; that is what is discussed, among everything else, in those sticky threads.
Some where in the mass of detail in those threads, most recently mentioned have been "Footman James" and "Ebike" as useful bike insurer brokers but I don't recall if that was for green card cover only for 12 months cover - probably was for fully comp because there are treaties which require any ins issued in the EU to be valid in any other bit of the EU.

I have "permanent" fully comp cover for taking a car to Europe; any broker will do this IMO at the time that your cover is up for renewal - that is when I put them on the spot (with the threat of taking my business elsewhere) and guess what .................. it gets done.
Far too many Brits accept everything that the insurance brokers/sales reps/call centre minnions tell them.
This 12 month cover for a car was charged at an extra £19 for the full year at last renewal.

For my bikes, I don't care; I have never had fully comp cover and if I drop one or other then I deal with it. Simple.

As for Turkey, you buy it at the border, same for the visa by the way.
Beyond there, I have no idea but it will be similar is my guess - there are certainly plenty of folks on here who have been there!!

Hope this makes sense.
