Info Help Needed! Can i take a Bolivian registered bike into other SA countries?
 

hiya, i´ve googled the heck out of this..and still can´t seem to find the answer. If i buy a motorcycle in bolivia, register it in bolivia, buy international insurance, Can I take it into the other surrounding South American countries? (i.e. Argentina, chile, ect.).
I´m a yankee girl, fresh off an invigorating solo African ride, looking for a way around the argentina paperwork nightmare.

i´m not often on the forums, forgive me..
but this is a question, i can´t seem to find the answer to.

(pretty sure i wouldn´t be able to take it into the USA or sell it any other place but Bolivia but would welcome info on that topic as well.

...just can't sell it anywhere else except maybe Paraguay. You may not be able to cross directly into Chile with it, might have to go through Argentina first...there has been some border crossing issues in the recent past between Chile Peru and Argentina....I can't remember exactly but someone will post on this.
Mercosur insurance will cover you in most South American countries - should be an agent selling such in Bolivia, or just sort insurance in each country as you go. There's lots of links here on the subject.

i found info on all the other topics, but justn´t couldn´t confirm that i could take it out...it seemed probable but just wanted to know before laying down any smackaroos...
