Indian 6 Month Tourist Visa Extension?

Hi,

I am currently in Lahore in Pakistan and after doing the KKH will be going into India. I applied for my Indian visa several months ago and it expires on the 21st November. I believe it is possible to get an extension within India. Could anyone shed some light on the process please?

Thanks

Duncan

Thumbs down

My visa had printed on it: not extendible. Does yours have that as well. I asked for an extension and it was outright refused.

Yeh, my visa has non extendable in tiny tiny writing. Didnt see it before. I plan on getting a new visa either in Islamabad or popping straight across to Nepal and getting a new one there.

Cheers

Hello, you wont be able to get an extension from within India. Most people who want to extend an Indian visa do as you say and pop to Nepal and get a new one though we did meet someone at the border who had done this quite a lot and the Indians didnt want him to come back in. A few times should be o.k though. Nepal would be your best bet over Islamabad as it is more used to this happening. We had to fight quite hard in Islamabad for a 6 month multiple entry visa, they much prefer to give <3 month single entry.
