importing a bike into the UK
 

we're currently travelling around south east asia, and we're planning on buying an enfield bike in india to ship back to the UK. What bits of paperwork and stuff will we need to do this, and any ideas of the import rates and vat etc into the uk - are they significantly better for 2nd hand bikes, etc?

I've also been checking into this. Have at Look at this link on the Customs & Excise website.

It mentions VAT rates and if you contact your nearest regional office they can supposedly give you an idea of what you'll have to pay. I've e-mailed and am waiting to see if they reply.
