IDP question
 

Hi all, my son who has been in australia for over twelve months and is now in new zealand , where he has residency, has a uk full motorbike and car licence and is now planning on going over to SE Asia to begin his journey home.
Is it important for him to have an international driving licence, and how would he go about getting one while in New Zealand?
I have looked up the NZ AA shops but I think they would only issue one from a nz licence.
Any help on this would be appreciated, thanks.
