How do I get a carnet in Cambodia?
I want to ride my bike from Cambodia (it's a Cambodian bike) home to Australia, through Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia to Australia. Does anyone know how I can get a carnet for my bike here?
If you don't intend to return to Cambodia with the bike then a carnet will be of no help. You don't get your money back until you return to the originating country and prove that you haven't sold the bike. I would guess that the plan is to import the bike into Austalia? You would then pay the import duty for Australia.
Hi Will, so what did you do? I am keen to follow a similar plan, but then from Cambodia to Netherlands.
But perhaps it is easier/cheaper to buy a bike in Netherlands and ship it to Nepal (as another obstacle I have is Myamar)
Did you proceed with yourplans?
