Help Please !! Overland Route -India-UK

Hi All,

I am looking for information regarding the planning, routes on the internet, but so far i have been unable to find a correct route of countries to travel thru.

I would really appreciate if you could help me in anyway regarding this trip. Since I dont know anyone in India who has done a trip like this before, it has become really difficult to get correct information.

Honestly, I am a little scared of doing this trip on my own, but I still want to do. A trip like this will not be possible without support from Family, Friends and all those who can help me with their suggestions.

Could you please tell me, what route should i take from India to reach UK?

Someone has suggested : India-Pakistan-Iran-Turkey-Greece-Italy-France-UK....Is this correct or is there a shorter and safer route?

If you do know of any web links or any other info which could help me, please give them to me.

Thanks in Advance.

We are on our way from Australia to Europe.
Keep an eye on this website as it is amazing how you can meet up with people along the way. We are doing the route you have suggested. We are in Pakistan at the moment. Held up in Islamabud by the Iran embassy. They are so slow at giving out a visa. Suggest you get the Iran visa before you leave home. We had to apply, then go back in 8 days (we used this time to do the Karakoram Highway) and then it took another 4 days to get the visa. Cost us $60 (Australian) for a 7 . . . yes a 7. . . day transit visa that we will have to renew as we go through Iran. It is easy to renew we are told, but will cost us we are sure. Hope this info is a help.

Hai,

Great idea. Just make the journey.
A route I would sugest:
India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgarie, Roemenia, Hongary, Tsjechie, Germany

It has more historical places of interest.

If you want more detailed discriptions just send a mail.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
