Info needed on insurance in Croatia...
 

Hi there,

New to the forum, have to say it looks great!

I'm off on a road trip around Europe shortly and want to take in Croatia. However, my current insurance doesn't cover for any countries outside the EU.

I understand I can buy insurance on the border but I would rather avoid this if I can by buuying some short term insurance before setting off. I can't find anyone who can offer this though. Anybody out there got any ideas? I'm a UK rider and the bike is currently registered and insured in the UK.

If not, does anyone have any experience of buying insurance for Croatia at the border? Thinking in terms of cost, hassle, effectiveness...

being from the UK, I'd think you could get a green card to cover those places. Im from the US, & my green card never does. I went thru croatia a couple months ago, & wasnt asked for insurance at the border, so I didnt have to buy it. Last time I got HR insurance tho, it was cheap, about 17.00 for a month. serbia nails you for 100usd a month, MK was 50 euros 2 weeks, MD 35usd a year, UA 30 usd a month, AL about 30usd a month, never bought in BiH, or CG.

Double check the fine print .. most UK policies cover EU plus Iceland, Norway Switzerland AND Croatia as standard.

Also try and ask them for a green card, Many UK insurance companies do that. Be persistent in asking for it.
