Indian Visa Application Form question

Could anybody tell me please, what to put on the Indian visa application form from vsfglobal.co.uk?

It asks for the name, address and telephone number of two referees in India to be contacted in case of need. I don't know a soul in India - would it be appropriate to list two hotels? :confused1: We are unlikely to use them anyway.
There are seemingly hundreds of motorcyclists (all right - a bit of an exaggeration) converging on Iran and Pakistan this September, so somebody must have applied for an Indian visa!!!!!

It's going to be really interesting to meet up with some of the people posting questions on this site - hope you all contribute to the Horizons site with a few quid after all the information gathered! Come on folks - be members

Hi,

When I applied a couple of months ago the only thing I listed was for a random hotel I found from Google. I doubt I will stay there as I have no idea where is is. They granted me a visa with no problems.

I can highly rate the VFS global application process, if only every visa application was as easy. I dropped it off at the centre in Manchester, they sent it to Birmingham, then posted my passport and visa back in about a week.

Can't decide whether to get ours before we go or on route, how long is it valid for before you enter ?

Valid for 6 months. Enter any time during its validity... stay not to exceed 180 days. Mine was multiple entry.

Thanks Duncan - I will do the same - if I go for a 5 star hotel then I may get my visa back in less than a week I don't think!!!!!

I think the referees are more like contacts that in my experience they never contact, so listing some hotel contacts should be ok. You can get a visa for longer than six months if you need it.

Good luck with the trip.
