Hi Andy,

we will pass Athens beginning f next week. Can you give us some detailed informations about this India embassy - company. Maybe the location and other necessary documents or items??

I was thinking, maybe find a cheap (?) ferry from Dubai to any place in India...

Take care!!

Ale

Hi Alex, I might still be doing that if I can't get the Pakistan transit. I doubt the ferry from Dubai will be that cheap, I know Harry Lyon-Smith (vegioil.com) ended up flying his bike!

The company is India's official outsourcing company. Note that the total ended up being €90 so I left it. I confirmed its less than half that to get it direct from the Indian embassy in Turkey. Either way it'll take a week. You need two biometric passport photos, to fill the India application online and two photocopies of your passport. A bank statement is needed if you go to the Istanbul Embassy.

Its possible (according to Indian Embassy in Athens) to go to Nepal and back by getting another visa application at the capital to re-enter India. The two month grace period doesn't apply to Nepal which makes this possible.

Good luck!

I think at least have a look in Athens for that outsourcing-company!

Maybe see you on the road? Or an airplane...

Where are you know??

Ciao Alex

I'm in Athens but might be leaving tomorrow or the day after for a two week stint around Europe, then returning to Athens for a day, then jetting back to the UK for a wedding.

I've confirmed the Istanbul process is definitely possible and half the price so no reason to do it in Athens. Bare in mind the company will charge you €90 regardless of whether its successful or not!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
