Getting a UK Land Rover into Egypt

Hi
I'm a Brit citizen currently living and working in Cairo (with Egyptian residency)and want to bring my UK-registered RHD diesel 1991 Land Rover out here, but refuse (am unable) to pay the huge costs in taxes that Egypt demands.
How can I bring my car out, does anyone know? Ive heard lots of rumours....

Appreciate any help! There's s available as thanks

I’m in Egypt as well and have been trying to do the same for years. Only oil companies, embassies and some journalists are allowed to bring vehicles for short periods of time without paying the insane taxes. And even for those people it’s not that easy or straight forward since there’s a lot of stupid rules and regulations to prevent other expats and Egyptians from finding loopholes and avoid paying taxes.

I can only recommend that you buy a second hand rover in Egypt and hope you won’t loose much money selling it when you leave.

RHD in Cairo traffic??? I’d love to see that .
