Foreign vehicle in Egypt for 2 years???
 

I've just read in Lonely Planet Egypt 2002, that a foreign vehicle with a carnet can get into Egypt for three months, renewable UPTO 2 YEARS. This seems at odds with the "max 6 months", that I've read somewhere else.

Can anyone confirm or deny this for me.
