Entering Bosnia and Herzegovina

Has anyone ever entered BiH from Croatia on the E661 at Bosanska Gradiska?

I was just wondering what border facilities there are here as my insurance covers everywhere in Europe where I am travelling apart from BiH. I am wondering if there is any places where I can buy insurance at the border. I will only ber stopping in the country for a few days.

Does anyone have any experience?

Cheers

Dave

I organised a tour including Bosnia & Herzegovina for my club last year. Members crossed from Croatia at several points including the one you mention. Some were asked to produce their green card, some were not. Those that hadn't got a green card when asked to show one had their passports held and were shown where to go to obtain insurance, the process took less than half an hour. It's really not worth risking it as there are police with speed guns holed up in every other bus shelter, so they'll probably catch you. Ask at passport control where you can buy insurance, a month's cover cost between 20 and 35 euros, a month was the shortest period you could insure for. Enjoy Bosnia, I found it a fascinating place.

Thanks for that,

I am most greatful. I wouldn't think of travelling without insurance. I was only wondering what the proceedure is for buying insurance is and if it can be done at that crossing.

So trip still on the go, road atlas now cut up into 120 peices. Planning is going well!!!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
