Emirates to Ireland
 

This willl probably seem pretty vague but here goes. I am planning a trip next summer from my home in the United Arab Emirates back to Ireland.(My Homeland) Has anyone any ideas about the paperwork (Insurance, carnets etc) that I will need to do this. I have searched all websites in detail in the hope of finding someone who has done The Gulf to Europe but with no success. Would I be better off shipping the bike to Greece or Turkey and taking it from there. The bike will be registered here in Abu Dhbabi.

Whether you will need a carnet de passage depends on your precise route. If you send a list of the countries you plan to go through to the AA of Ireland, they should be able to tell you which require a carnet.

If you do ship the bike to Greece or Turkey, you will not require a carnet from there back through Europe to Ireland. But you are likely to have to pay some duties to import it into Ireland, unless it originated in Europe.
