East African Visas
 

Hi we are planning a trip next oct/nov overland from london to cape town. At the moment we are unsure what is the best way to approach the visas. I have heard that for some countries you have 3 months from date of issue in which you must use your visa.

Would it be easier getting the visas before the trip and hope that we use them within the time limit, or should we get them along the way? How easy is it to obtain visas whilst travelling?

Hi Guys, on a London Capetown ride 3 years ago as a Brit on a Brit passport I had to get a Syrian visa in London before I left, a Sudan visa at their embassy in Cairo along with a letter from the Brit embassy there, a rip off, an Ethiopian visa at their embassy in Khartoum and a visa for Kenya at their embassy in Addis, all others at the borders. It's a great trip with pretty good roads except for north Sudan, the entry into Ethiopia and northern Kenya,:mchappy: you will enjoy it. Ride safe.

Hi weve just arrived in Mozambique having travelled down from Nairobi kenya, the only visa you cant get on the borders is the one for Mozambique, we gpot ours in Blantyre malawi hope this helps
