Do I have to pay VAT on my Landcruiser back in the UK?
 

Looking at picking up a 1970's Landcruiser tomorrow (i'm living in Yemen) and driving it back home in the next year or so to the UK

I'm a little bit confused whether i'll get taxed on it...or how i'll get taxed on it.

Fat chance of getting a bill of purchase here...and i'm only paying $4000 for it? Any ideas?

If you've owned and used the vehicle outside the eu for 6 months and as long as you don't sell it for 12 months after registering in the uk then you don't have to pay any VAT or import duty. More info here:

Not sure about the paperwork required but maybe it would be worth creating your own bill of purchase?
