onward-flight ticket needed for entering New Zealand or Australia?

I´ve heard stories about NZ-Airlines insisting on a onward flight ticket for motorcycle-travellers flying from Chile to NZ.

No question, this is required for some countries officially, but we never had to give proof, when entering any of these countries with our motorcycles.

How is your experience for NZ and OZ?
Is it the airlines who give you trouble or immigrations?

Does a faked flight confirmation work?
Are Airlines going to NZ able to check the tickets/confirmations codes?

Greetings from Brasil

Panny

sure do

Hi,
Have no doubt the authorities here in NZ will double check everything. Do not, and I repeat DO NOT try to fake your way through they will check. Hope that helps

Ride safe

Thumbs down

right, not a good idea.

better is to get a visa at the nz embassy in your country before, there you do not need to provide a return ticket, you just have to proove that you have sufficiant funds to buy one once u r there .... at least for Germans its like this... just talked to the embassy last week and send them my passport and my bank statement ...

goog luck

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
