Carnets? Heading from W Africa to UK

I am currently in Sierra Leone working. I am planning to drive from Sierra Leone back to the UK on my motorbike which is Sierra Leonean registered, licensed and insured. Will I still need a carnet as I head North (via Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania and Morocco)?
Cheers

Hello Mike, and welcome to the HUBB!

Check out this thread, and also have a look through the Sahara Travel Forum.

Sounds like you won't need a carnet for the countries you mention, although it does smooth border procedures if you have one.

Good luck and let us know how you go!
