You will be able to sell the bike but will not get a good price. The problem will be if you ever want to come back into the coubtry you will have problems.
You could check your bike out of the country at the border and then sell it in a border town.
What year and model is your bike and how much do you want for it?

And you'll lose the deposit currently collected at the time of temporary importation if you don't export the bike.

Hi Gary, Marv,

Thanks! I will sell it to an American who wants to leave the country to, back to Chile. So, I will have to do 3 things probably:
1. dutch papers on his name
2. my temporary import paper should be on his name, bc he wants to leave the country as well
3. if my passport is stamped, get it signed by customs or something so I can get out of the country (I will fly away from Mexico City).
4. see how I can get the deposit back (maybe blocking my credit card or something)

I want to sell my bike in Puerto Escondido. Any ideas what are good cities to sell?

Cheers and a lot of thanks for the comments!

Ben

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
