Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events such as this one (18 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or
to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and

Okay, maybe a long shot but then if the info is not on the HUBB then I don't know where!
Anyone have any idea how one would go about temporarily importing a vehicle (registered in Ghana) into SADAC countries (SA, Namib, Botswana etc)? From SADAC the vehicle would be going elsewhere and more than likely not back to Ghana - so a carnet originating in Ghana would be out of the question. I would probably ship the vehicle into Walvis bay, so bluffing my way past some deserted outpost would be out of the question. I was thinking that a deposit with a bank or ? But then would that have to be for each country or?
Advice on this would be really appreciated, spent a good few hours trawling the search functions but no real joy, in fact I am still confused as to whether a Carnet is even required or not. First hand experience would be valuable.
