Carnet needed around the med?

Hi. My mate is doing a trip around the med and has asked me to gather a bit of information for him - specifically does he need a Carnet for Turkey, Syria or Jordan?
I've done a bit of looking around and on the face of it, it seems not. But it doesn't hurt to ask for confirmation.
TIA

Welcome to HUBB.

Please ask your mate to look around these posts. The info is all there.

It has not been possible to ride around the med for a long time, due to the Maroc/Algerie border being closed. Egypt requires a carnet and is a pain to get into and for Libya a guide is required. I believe the same goes for Algerie.

Thanks Beddhist.
He's not very computer savvy so I'm trying to help him out by asking the question for him.
I'm unsure of his exact route - He is aware of the need for a guide around Libya so he's hoping to avoid that. I do know that he is not going to do the whole loop due to the difficulties mentioned. He spoke of maybe getting a ferry across at some point (Italy to Tunisia?) but wants to ride as much of it as he can.
We have only spoken briefly about it although he has been planning it for months (years). I shall have to sit down with him and a map so that I'm clearer on his route.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
