carnet for enfields, leaving from Nepal to EU

is anyone experienced in buying a enflied in nepal/india and riding it home, somewhere to the EU?

I found lots of posts about that issue, but it seems like nobody actually was able to get the trip done. (?)

I'm currently trying to buy a bike (enfield or jap. offroad) in Nepal, but don't know if it is possible to get a carnet, issued for example from the ADAC in Germany, for a Enfield.

Can anybody help me?!
Thanx a lot!!

Carnets for Nepali bikes with Hearts & Tears

Hearts and Tears Motorcycle Club is an adventure tourism business in Pokhara, Nepal.

We have arranged many Carnets for riders making the trip from India/Nepal to Europe. Please note that it is not possible to get a Carnet for an Indian-registered bike.

However, it is possible to get a Carnet for a Nepali-registered bike. We have done it many times. Sorry, it is not possible to re-register your Indian bike with Nepali plates.

The Carnet de Passage is an international agreement administered from Switzerland. Technically, you can buy your Carnet from any participating agency worldwide. In practice, they often have restrictions about your nationality or the country where the bike is registered.

We have a legal business in Nepal, so we can help you get a Nepali bike registered in your name. You will need a "no objection letter" from your embassy in Kathmandu. We can then help with the rest of the Carnet process. It usually takes 4-6 weeks in total.

Check out our website, come and see us at the Busy Bee Cafe, or call +977 984 602 0293.

Good luck ...
Rick

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
