Carnet Confusion

Hi All,

I'm hoping to hit the road in 3 weeks - Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon.

Does anyone have the most current info on whether I'll need a Carnet de Passage?

Thanks!

Greece no, Turkey no, but the rest of the countries I havent been to, so I do not know.

But I dont think it will be like they´ll change every week or month, whether or not a country is in the carnet system or not, so I believe that information will be easy enough to get.

And maybe best to get it from some official source, too, like the automobile association in your country, and if it will be needed, thats where you´ll need to apply to get it anyway.

Somewhere on this site is a list of all the countries and whether or not they require a carnet. Can't remember exactly where, I'm afraid! I'd be looking into it quickly though, if it takes anything like the time it takes to get a Carnet in the UK where you are, you're already too late!

carnet not needed

you do not need a carnet for either of these countries. Syria and jordan might make u pay for insurance, et Lebanon is free for all.

cheers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
