Hi Anyone know the name of an insurance company for back-up money for a carnet thanks trand

I got a carnet late 2003 from the AA, and they only accepted insurance from one provider as I recall, if you get in touch with them they will send you the details

RAC is now the only issuer of carnets in GB ( AA ceased issue in June 2002).

Carnet insurance liability can only be arranged with R L Davison & Co. Ltd & details will be supplied with carnet application, etc.

Hi,

Have you looked into getting a bank guarantee instead of insurance? Should cost about £50-£75 to organise and, assuming you don't default on the carnet, that's all it costs.

Basically it's an unsecured personal loan, so if you default on the carnet, your bank pays for it and then opens a loan and chases you for the money. We both did it for our trip (me with NatWest and Lisa with Lloyds) - it worked great and is by far the cheapest option.
