UK insurance that covers more than 90 days per trıp to Europe?

just read the small print and it says:

"Your permanent home must be in GB, Northern
Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and
your visits to countries outside of the listed
territories must not exceed 1 month in any trip."

carole nash seems to have cover extended up to 90 days.

But, 365 days european cover. Though I have to come back every 1 month. Which means 12 days I must be in the UK, meaning only 353 days european cover?

That is not in my hardcopy of my policy document (the glossy booklet): I've just looked through it, cover to cover.

Yes, for the bit about living in the UK ("permanent home") - even then, it reads as if you can have "basic" EU cover (3rd party) without actually living in the UK.

The Listed Territories..., isn't that the EU (where i'm travelling within).So does that mean that i can travel to, say, Croatia/Montenegro/Bosnia but the travel to these can total less than 1-month per trip?? Thoughts, please...:confused1:

Your policy schedule shows the "territorial limits" - in simple terms, the whole of the EU (but it specifically includes Croatia).

I don't have the bit that I have underlined in your post above - it is not in the sentence on page 8 that I referenced above (section 5 of the policy document) -- invisible ink in my doc??

I have 3rd P, F&T cover, but I don't think that makes any difference.

No, it's in the Key Facts download on the eBike website - nothing more about time limitations in the Policy booklet (also in the downloads section).I reckon a phonecall to them tomorrow is in order, bike's playing up so i could do without this with 2 weeks to go.And you're right re Croatia - my error (nice to be wrong this time).

Agreed, it is in there: I have never read that bit. Why:-
Well "key facts" are not part of your contract with ebike and the bit about 1 month is not in the policy document, so I reckon it counts for "not a lot" either in practical terms or in law.
In summary, it does not appear in any of the 4 bits of hardcopy that I have.

It refers to "outside the EU (+ Croatia + Switzerland)" which in practical terms means don't be in, say, Morocco or Serbia or wherever for more than 1 month at a time: therefore, so what? If, say, you go off to Africa for longer than 1 month you can cancel the policy and get a refund (or use their facility to pay monthly while travelling around the EU and then stop paying).

What I am getting at is that I can't see why ebike would make a fuss about such a statement in the first place: Let us all know what they say about it when you get through to them on the phone.

ps I had a claims "situation" with ebike a few months ago and they did not ask me if I had been out of the EU, never mind for how long: just wanted to know "why" I was riding at the time - basically was I riding for leisure or for business (latter not covered).

Well from what I've heard they're legally required to cover you anyway.

This replaces teh old green card for the eec, but..... many insurances will drop you down to the legal requirement of the country you are in ie 3rd party... after a month or three. I was insured with fortis, and after three months outside uk it would drop my fully comp down the to legal minimum in order to comply with that eec directive.

Are we getting away from the original question?... After referring to eBike Insurance - Help Desk & FAQ and manually looking through the (extensive) questions/permutations i reckon that ebike do appear to cover Europe/EU travel for the duration of the policy.It became clear that they weren'tlikely to answer the phone but they auto-responded to an e-mail and they will hopefully clear up the "and your visits to countries outside of the listedterritories must not exceed 1 month in any trip." issue.Will keep you informed:confused1:

Probably are going away from it a tad: the green card situation is pretty much clear cut as far as I understand it - the issues seem to revolve around some countries that don't follow the direction given by the EU.

Anyway about ebike: I am not too surprised that you are not getting a straight answer from ebike - if I understand your post here, you are not getting much, if any, contact by telephone for instance.
I have liked them enough, up to now, to renew my insurance, so I am now in my second year cover with ebike (following a claim during my first year).
However, they rely a great deal on their website (but you are told that), to the point that I have had that answer in response to email (when I got a response from a human rather than an auto-message).
In my experience, don't hold your breath for an answer by email: in my case, they answered my first, easy question, but not my second, more searching query.

Still, it will be interesting to hear how you get on with them.
