Buying a vehicle in the UK and getting a Carnet for it
 

Hello,
A friend and I are planning on buying a vehicle in the UK next year, then taking it around Africa. From what I have been reading, the RAC in the UK will only issue carnets to UK nationals, which neither of us are. If we buy a car there, would it be possible to get a carnet from another issuing organisation?

Also, we plan on going to Egypt, but I´ve read that they will only let you in if the Carnet is issued in the same country as the vehicle is registered in. If we buy a car in the UK, we would have to have it registered to the UK I´m guessing, and this could pose a problem getting into Egypt.

Anyone have any advise on all of this?
