Buying bike in Germany
I am an Australian tourist currently in London. I have decided to buy a bike and do Eastern Europe etc for some months. After having looked at used bike options in the UK I have decided that Germany offers a better choice of used bikes (namely DR's, KLR's and XTZ 600's). I have friends in Germany but no German residence and I am travelling on an Australian passport. If I buy a bike in Germany will I be able to get rego in my name and get liability insurance?? Any feed back regarding this issue would be much appreciated.
Any other strings attached to this option that I should know about?? |

Hi Benaus and welcome to the HUBB!
Check out these postings on the topic of buying a bike in Europe - Belgium is also an option, maybe easier to register the bike than in Germany. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000178.html http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000181.html http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000047.html http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000346.html Good luck and let us know how you go. ------------------ Susan Johnson "It matters not what goal you seek Its secret here reposes: You've got to dig from week to week To get Results or Roses."
