Any Canadians out there taken their BC bikes down south for the winter? What do you do about the plates? I will be heading down to South America from BC around mid October. My insurance runs out in November. Which I realise is not valid outside Canada/US. Does this cause any issues with the registration?

I really dont want to pay ICBC insurance for nothing. It is a total rip off as it is!

Hi we are currently on a round the world trip in our BC registered 4 Runner and we have had no problems our ICBC insurance ran out in June and so far we have been through Korea, Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan with no problems.

A couple of things i did was just black out the insurance tag on the back plate and at borders just had over the owners doc folded in half and point at the lower part which has all the vehicle information on as that's all they are interested in, as for insurance we just buy it at each border.
