Bringing New Parts into Peru...Customs Issues?
Hello,
This is a Peru specific question, but any ideas will be of use. I am having a friend bring down some new parts for my motorcycle that is currently in Lima, Peru. Parts consist of a new chain, 2 new sprockets, brake pads and fork seals. Some people have warned me that customs may hold the parts for 2 days and then tax you on them while others have told me that my friend can walk right through customs with them in her bag and not even declare them. Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated or first hand experiences. Thanks, Hadjh 2 KLRs to SF |

Its only an issue if your friend is Peruvian - if not just walk straight through customs.
