Bike storage and customs/visa regs

Hey all, I am trying to travel the world on a dr650, but I work seasonally and so only have 3-4 months at a time to travel. I figured i could store the bike where ever I ended up and return 8 months later to continue traveling. I am running into trouble with the customs rules. For example in Mexico they only allow you and the bike to be in the country for 6 months. Does anyone know a way around this so that the bike could stay in the country longer while I travel out from and back into the country? I am currently in Mexico and headed south so costa rica or panama could be good options. The next jump might take me to Peru. And then south to Chile.
Thanks,
Karl

Different rules apply to different countries and you will have to be more specific about country or region, for instance if you expect to end up in Central America after your 4 months then ask are there any countries in this region I can leave the bike in for 8 months.

And welcome by the way. bier

I left maine in november, in baja mexico now and want to head into central America. So good countries to leave the bike may be panama or costa rica.
