Bike insurance in Morocco

I'm travelling to Morocco in May for a couple of weeks. My insurance company will cover me while I travel through France and Spain but not once I enter Morocco.

Do I need insurance for the bike to enter Morocco or is it not required?

If I don't need insurance is it still worth having it just in case?

Happy to meet up with anyone who's going that way. Thanks and happy travels

Hey Chris,

you do need a green card to enter Marocco. This means that you need to have bike insurance.
I have read in other postings that you can buy a cheap one on the border. But I wouldn't rely on it when you need it.
Personally I have an insurance that covers me in Marocco. I also have a travel assistance insurance.

I'll be in Marocco the whole month of May. Any idea where you might be around? Feel free to mail me direct on my email adres.

Thanks for the reply. I'll e-mail you direct about meeting up. Do you have any suggestions of good insurers?

Hey Chris,

My bike (third party insurance) is insured by Mercator and Noordstar, but I think this a Belgium company only.
The travel insurance for myself (and the bike) is by Interpartner Assistance.
