Africa Insurance
 

Hi (and greetings, this is my first post here). Does anyone know anywhere that will do motorbike insurance for Africa for a UK registered bike (preferably without costing me an arm and a leg). Many thanks, Derek Bartram.

Ps. This site is great, very useful for people like me who are really not prepared for this.

I do not know whether it will be usefull but i found a insurer in the Netherlands who offers insurance for the whole African continent. It is a broker however and I have the feeling that they work with an UK based insurance company. Their web site is

Most people do not bother to insure their car or bike though. Also many countries offer insurance at the border and if you already have insurance it is very well possible that you end up with double insurance and double cost.

Hi, thanks for your reply. That was the only place that would insure me. Since starting to plan the trip I have been delayed too much by my bank (grrr Natwest is certainly not the way) so i'm having to put it of until after my PhD in 3 years or so. Ho well, will be able to prepare a bit better then though.
