Wicklow - Morocco (via Santander) Easter 2010

Hello All,
Having not had a propper bike tour since 2006, excluding blasts to Wales, I feel I am due a trip. Inspired by all the tales of easy accessable adventure in Morocco I have decided to see what it is all about.
I plan to go this easter getting the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander on either Sunday 21th or Sunday 28th of March and returning 3 weeks later, thus making optimum use of the Easter work holidays.
In Morocco I prefer to avoid big cities and will probably get the ferry from Malaga to Nador.

I would like to camp out a few nights and try as many pists as possible nothing too extreme but hopefully just a taste of what Morocco has to offer, including:I am trying not to attempt too much but if time allows I will have a few backup ideas like The desert artwork of Hannesjörg Voth:

I am sure there are plenty of people planning simillar trips around the same time. Here are two guys on the Hubb planning a trip for April:

If anyone out there is interested in accompanying me for some or all of the trip please let me know.
I will be using a 2002 KLR 650 for the trip. Here she is trying to do some "desert practice" in the Irish snow:

Hi Orujo,
I'm planning an almost identical trip leaving from just over the Wicklow mountains in north Kildare. Unfortunately due to work and study commitments I can't leave until the end of May at the earliest, and considering the temperatures in Morocco it looks like Sept/Oct for me. But hey give me a shout if you get delayed or feel like postponing for a few months...
Enjoy,

Pete

Hi all, thanks to everybody that responded to my post.

The trip went well and I got to meet up with some riders from Ukgsr thanks to Stef's post.
All went well and the trip was everything I expected but left me with a longing for more.

If anyone is interested or wants more information I did a bit of a write-up here:
