USA traveling partner wanted

Since most of the people on this sight seem to not to be in the USA, I'll keep it short, and answer question for interested people.

I'm looking for riding companion/s to travel the USA, for now. Until I have covered all the lower 48. I do budget traveling. Retired and available anytime. live in SW Ohio, and can meet anywhere.

This is my first post, anywhere, to try to find a riding partner. If you might have any helpful ideas, on how to go about finding someone, I would gladly appreciate the help.

Hi

I'm from the UK , was looking at doing a trip this year to the USA , I had a kind of idea of the following , and would have to ship my bike over , unless i could buy and register a bike or borrow one possibly, would be great to have a companion
Coast to Coast West to East on US-50 through the following states 3500 miles give or take each way.....

California
Nevada
Utah
Colorado
Kansas
Missouri
Illinois
Indiana
Ohio
West Virginia
Virginia
Maryland

I want to explore old towns , faded and jaded and see some of the surviving old time places and not your commercial Wal Mart crap , Camping and Staying in low cost places , blagging some free nights with friends etc etc , It'll follow the old pony express trail on through from Sacremento up into the sierra navada down to lake tahoe and Nevada , this is known as the loneliest road , into Utah the Great Basin Desert over the Wasatch Front and onto the national park–packed red-rock country of the Colorado Plateau.

Continuing east, you cross the Continental Divide atop the Rockies, then follow the Arkansas River.

Across the Great Plains.

After bisecting Missouri from Kansas City to St. Louis, US-50 crosses the Mississippi River And head into Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

Climbing into the Appalachian backwoods of West Virginia, In to Washington DC , then throught to Marylands Eastern Shore for the end...

Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated,

Paul

Sounds like a great trip. I live in Ohio and have ridden most of US-50 west of here. I have not ridden from mid Utah to CA. I dipped south in Utah and hit up most of the National parks. I highly recommend them if you have the time. If nothing else you have to divert a little, and ride route 12 in Utah, between Brice Canon, and Capital reef national parks. It is the most spectacular road, that I have ridden on, so far. I have ridden much of Colorado, and if you want some sugestion, let me know. I have not gone east of Ohio on 50, and would be interested in traveling with you if your interested. When are you planing on traveling.

I have taken US 50 from Nevada to Virginia and I did not like is as much as
US 36.
U.S. Route 36 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From California take I-80 to Fernley, NV then US 50 into Utah where it turnes into I-70. Just past Denver, CO you turn onto US 36.
Its a great ride East to Ohio.

I have taken US 36 twice and it is nicer than US 50.
If you want to go faster at any time you can drop down from US 36 on to
I-70 to pick up the speed.

Hi

I'm looking at June , getting married in May, then short honeymoon :) then i have some freedom for a while, finnish work and get ready, but my aim is to be in US for June, lots to sort , bike , routes,
I'm happy to meet up and would be great to have a fellow traveller to explore with , especially as i am a Brit, so i'd be an englishman abroad :).
I'm looking at shipping costs, maybe it would be better to buy a bike when i arrive or prior to arrival subject to be able to do so,
Cheers
Paul
