USA, Central and maybe Southern Americas

Hey,

Americas Trip starting, inshallah, March '03, heading across the southern US then all the way down, maybe as far as Brasil or Argentina on an F650 Dakar, looking for dusty wheels, cold beers, Che's ghost and maybe the odd ayahuasca moment.

Anyone heading that way and looking for an occasional, shambolic partner in crime?

How long will you be on the road? I am planning to head south around the end of May. I am leaving from Bogota, Colombia, we could meet up here and keep going till Argentina. I haven´t squared off the route yet, so i am pretty flexible. My bike is a GS 500E.

Hey,

End of May could be slightly early for me, but I'd consider accelerating things. Can I email you about the whole Colombia situation? I've got loads of questions.

Cheers, Dan

Dan,

When and where is your start in the US? I'm hoping to depart soon, possibly taking the same route. Leave from DC, head south(maybe coast-coast) and into Mexico. No real plans or destination. Let me know what plans you may have.

Adios,
Dan

Hey Dan,

Arrive Toronto March 13th, hopefully. Hoping to be in New York for St Pats (17th), spend about a month coast to coast then head into Mexico.

Hi Dan,

when you're in Toronto, give me a call
(416-531-6953 yeah, I know I shouldn't advertise my phone like this, but I'm disconnecting it anyway http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif
I would invite you to stay over, but I don't
know where we could put your bike, as I don't have a garage and currently there's quite a huge amount of snow piled up on the street. Anyway, you can drop by and then decide.
I live about 15 min from the downtown core.
I will be heading south as well, but in April.
Today, we're supposed to get really cold (there's a flash freeze warning in effect), down to -24C. It's now around -1 and I went for a run in the forest in the snow (deep, up to my knees). Later this week it should get warmer and normally it's not this cold. Hopefully you won't get snow on the streets when you arrive (but there'll be plenty off the streets and on the side of the road where cars park, unless we get an unexpected heat wave), but you should plan for such a scenario.

Cheers,
Nelson

May see you out there. I'm leaving from DC in about 2 weeks and going basically the same direction, although sticking mainly to pavement. Buen viaje! -Dan

Hey Kids,

On the road again. Landed in Toronto on 13th, bike cleared 14th (good work, Mandell), Niagra, Albany, now plotted up in New York City. Get in touch with me here or via email and hopefully I'll see a few of you out there.

Cheers for now, Dan Walsh
