Hi

Hi everyone
I'm currently planning a UK to OZ trip too and am leaving in Jan/Feb time. The way i see it so far is either India to China or Mongolia to Laos.
Flying from Delhi or Kathmandu to either Bangkok or Chiang Mai isn't to hard, either that or shipping from say Chenani to Bangkok by sea. These options seem the cheapest and easiest. The other options you have are going to Mongolia and driving through china to Laos, driving from the 'Stans' through china to Laos or driving from Nepal through China to Laos.
Personally driving through china from Nepal to Laos would be the holy grail but most difficult to organise because I've only heard it being done a few times. The easiest probably would be to skip china altogether and fly or ship around it. But id rather not if I could (its over LAND for a reason) but iam not to fussy. Let us know your thoughts on any of this, ideas or agreements. I'm Jake by the way, a trusty old R80 G/S owner ready for an Asia trip.

Hello all
We are an Australian couple looking to go from Germany back to Oz overland, and are definitely interested in going across China, time frame is not a big worry for us, preferred route would be Mongolia to Laos, via Russia (we haven`t been there yet) and then on down to Australia. We travel two up on a 1200 GSA, and have been watching the Hubb for information, found one company recommended by others who have been across (Navo tours China) they seem to have a fairly good itinerary, let us know how you go.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
