Guys,

Just to throw my 2p into the hat. I'm planning to head east from Northern Ireland this year starting around August/September time and have around 4 months. I'd be planning to press through europe quickly then through Turkey/Iran/Pakistan (KKH) before onto India and Nepal. After that either Thailand or directly to Oz depending on time constraints. It would also be nice to complete it from a rtw type of perspective and maybe go from Oz to West Usa and then back overland to East Usa before home, but again depends on time constraints.

Feel free to drop me a line/pm if any of this co-incides with what you are planning, even if its only to meet up along the way.:funmeteryes:

Hi Neil,

I will be headed along that way around the same time as you. I am starting a bit earlier but am heading to Sweden then around the top of the Baltic Sea first. I should be in Slovenia around August.Maybe we will meet somewhere on the road.

Cheers,

Kenny

hey guys

your plans sounds really good. but for me it's unclear how u want to travel. are u hitchhiking or what are u using to go ahead. i'm planing to spend one month in iran and another in pakistan trying to avoid monsoon in india. i guess september will be the last wet month over there.

hasta luego

Uk to Thailand 2009

Hi Alex-guys
I'm in the very early stages of planning a trip to Thailand via Europe, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India then to Thialand (Hopefully Cambodia & Laos but like all travels- nothing is ever set in stone)
Planning to set off around June to miss the Monsoons in Asia.
No international bike travel experience but plenty of trecking experience in S America & Asia. Planning to camp wherever possible to experience the culture/environment & minimise the costs.
No wheels as yet but working on that now...
Looking for travelling companion(s) to share the experience, enjoy the ride & minimise the risks.

you are planing to leafe in 2009
I hope that i'm alredy in australia at that time.
anyway. i have heared that the time for getting the iran visa thakes about 2 months and you have to give an exactly information where and when you'll enter and leave the country, also information about the route you take. the same for pakistan.
as i wrote above i'm going to start in summer 08. Iwill give you information about my expirience.

cheers tino:thumbup1:

Im been keen to see how you guys go. Im planning on a 2010 trip from UK to Aus, via the middle east as well. Im in early planning and looking for a travel mate. Currently im riding a M109R cruiser and riding around NSW and Vic (Australia), but looking at using a F650 Dakar or 1150GS Adventure in the future.

Hi Tino – guys
Thank you for the information on Iran & Pakistan, best of luck with the plans. Look forward to hearing your experiences.

Hi Andy,

I'm doing virtually the same trip as you are- no time constraints. Keep in touch and we may meet up on the road somewhere. Have you organised visas yet? I am going to apply for mine as I travel.

Cheers,

Kenny
