canada - chile

Hi,

I'm looking at a possible trip from Calgary to Chile / Argentina starting in august 2010, and looking for a potential riding partner. I ride a 2009 BMW F800 GS, ( just replaced my other bike).

I'm looking for a rider who is laid back but adventourous, and has a similar type enduro bike to ride mostly tarmac, but the occasional dirt, and poorly paved roads as well.

Drop me a line to start the dialogue

cheers everyone !

Cool riding Canada to Chile

Hey there
I could recommend you to ride alone if you don't find a partner!
I just rode Jasper Alberta to Santiago Chile - awesome journey.

Let me know if you need any info of your planned route.
There aren't as many bad roads you may think, unless you look for them like I did!.
I'm now trying to sell my Suzuki DR 350 around Santiago.
One Option I could recommend you, is looking into Shipping Canada to Chile, then ride from here north! Prices to ship your bike from here to canada if you plan doing so are very expensive!- maybe cheaper from canada to chile.

If I don't sell my bike I will ride Santiago to Ushuaia then to Brazil in Dec... maybe see you on the road!

Good luck

Cochrane to Peru

Hi Zanardi

I am headed to Peru next spring on a KLR for some alpine climbing. I will be hanging around in Chile for a while before I finish the trip to T.D.F. in November. Perhaps we could meet up for that portion of the trip or possibly do a little riding around these parts. I am presently riding a KTM 950 but plan to sell it this fall before the trip.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
