We set out to do the opposite this week. Our first stage being called Bribie to Birmingham.
Bribie being the name of the island we live on and our daughter is at the moment teaching in Birmingham. We are older than you and i wish I was only as vertically challenged as you. I am five and a half more challenged than you are.
Getting down to business. . . sending a travel update e mail newsletter thing to our friends. Could be of interest to you. If so e mail me and I will add you to my list.
P.S.This is our second time to do the Australia to Europe thing. Plan to be in Birmingham by June / July 05

Hi there. I´m planning the opposite, driving from Europe to Thailand and around in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam. Initially I was planning the same as you, but ran in to problems shipping the Bike from Europe to Asia, also buying a bike in Asia and drive home seems difficult regarding registration, insurance etc... I bought an Africa Twin here in Sweden and will drive down and send it back on a ship. Down southeast in Europe-Turkey-Iran-Pakistan-India-Myanmar-Thailand.

Hi Jimmy,

I'm in Telford Shropshire, untill November, when I fly back to Bangkok, with a new bevel for my 1984 R80Tic BM.

My Bm called Changeling is living it up in a GH in Cambodia!!

I've been on the road for three years now, already traveled through Europe & the Indian subcontinent, I flew from Kathmandu with Changeling to Bangkok!

I have never been to Russia, but would not mind going!!

As far as I am aware Vietnam, you can only ride a 150cc bike!! China parts are not possible by foriegn registered vechicles, with out loads of cash!!

Loas has excellent cheap bottlle , but the roads can be interesting!!

If there is any thing I can help you with, You can email me or ring my orange mob :-

rikrik04@yahoo.com

I do not have a working PC, so I have to go to the local library, so it may take a few days to reply to you!!

Ride Free, ride safe, Ride one more mile,

Rik & Changeling

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
